Recognised by its spangled surface and guaranteed minimum elongation properties, GALVABOND® steel is a commercial formable steel commonly known for general purpose applications.
Designed for forming and moderate drawing applications, GALVABOND® steel is available in G2 and G2S steel grades that are produced on a continuous hot dip zinc-coating process with a range of different coating classes. Applications include tube formed products, air conditioning ducts and panels, meter boxes, trailers, cable trays to scaffolding, planks, rendering mesh and feeder troughs.
G2S includes a skin passed process that further improves the surface quality and remains free from fluting for up to three months after zinc-coating (under normal storage conditions).
GALVABOND® steel conforms to relevant Australian Standards AS/NZS 1365:1996 (R2016) and AS 1397:2021.
