Global GreenTag^CertTM GreenRate™ product certification - updated

New BlueScope products have been certified under the Global GreenTag^CertTM GreenRate™ certification, achieving the highest rating, ‘Level A’.

An additional 10 products that have achieved 'Level A' GreenRate™ certification include:

• COLORBOND® Coolmax® steel
• COLORBOND® steel Metallic
• COLORBOND® Ultra steel
• COLORBOND® Intramax® steel
• COLORBOND® steel for insulated panels.
• TRUECORE® steel
• ZINCALUME® steel
• DECKFORM® steel / Low Glare DECKFORM® steel
• GALVABOND® steel
• GALVASPAN® steel

These are in addition to the following products, which have been GreenRateTM ‘Level A’ certified since February 2021:

• COLORBOND® steel for roofing and walling (XRW)
• XLERPLATE® steel
• Welded Beams and Columns

GreenRate™ is a robust and comprehensive third-party verified ecolabelling program aligned with the ISO 14024 standard for environmental labels and declarations. To obtain GreenRate™ certification, the relevant BlueScope products were evaluated against a range of sustainability attributes, including in relation to toxicity of materials and availability of environmental footprints (water and greenhouse gas emissions). BlueScope’s environmental and social responsibility performance was also evaluated across a range of criteria, including in relation to environmental management systems and ethical labour.

GreenRate™ certification is recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia and the Infrastructure Sustainability Council. Specifying products with GreenRate™ can be a fast, cost-effective means for projects to earn points under their respective tools, Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating.
